Barranco de la Councillor
With regard to environmental performance in the gorge of "Councillor", the CHS has invested 501,000 euros in building a road and forestry work, the adaptation and improvement of roads, improvement of the Northwest Greenway in this area; and the construction of a parking area.
First, the basin organization ran the hiking trail in the area of the gully, manually removing waste and debris from the runway.
After this cleaning, CHS made the forestry work, so you can run more comfortably the rest of work, and avoid damage to remnant vegetation.
These actions included the implementation of clear and thinning of the woodlands in poor plant health (mainly trees affected by fungal infection process) and to invasive vegetation, while the height of the trees pruned to favor remaining postage and good future development of the vegetation.
Following the implementation of forestry work, we proceeded to the formation of the trail within the forest area of the Rambla of the Councillor, which included several phases: the first one was the formation of a platform with a continuous meandering average width of 2 meters, ensuring that the platform path not cause any negative impact on local vegetation and the landscape.
Besides the formation of the platform of the path, there were two areas of rest, which also had to do the grading in the first place by mini backhoe and small machinery.
After the opening of the platform where they settled the path and rest areas, the CHS geotextile mesh placed 2 mm to prevent sprout vegetation within the area for human traffic.
Subsequently, these areas were covered with 15 inches of granular material forming the path.
In order to enable a closed path, is adapted and improved the roads adjacent to the boardwalk area with a contribution of a volume of 20 cm artificial gravel compacted to optimum moisture.
Another action that took place is the gutter opening, since most of the roads were frightened or had none.
Finally, to ensure the longest life of the road, 10 steps were carried water with their chests and mouths, made with reinforced concrete pipe does not require concreting the bottom and the top of the pipe.
In addition, the water passages are composed of the corresponding chest and mouth.
These small works of art were made with masonry careada to give priority to the aesthetic appearance of the same, and avoid creating elements that alter the landscape.
The type of concrete that was used for the creation of works of masonry is the 200 (20N/mm ²).
Improving the Northwest Greenway
Improving the area through which passes the Northwest Greenway understands the placement of a wooden fence to boundary of the area, thus channeling the movement of people.
In addition to fencing, the CHS implemented two hits on either side of the zone of adequacy of the avenue to facilitate passage through the hiking trail.
These accesses are performed with careada concrete stairs and fencing of the same features of the greenway area.
Finally, the CHS conducted a parking area on a plot next to the highway and right next to the access to it.
This action has been compounded by the formation of the esplanade, a contribution of 25 inches of compacted gravel artificial triple optimum moisture and asphalt treatment.
